At NHL Stenden, we offer high-quality, distinctive programs in International Teacher Education (ITE). Our ITE programs prepare students for careers in international schools through bachelor’s courses in primary education (ITEPS) and secondary education (ITESS), a specialized ITE track within the Master's in Learning & Innovation (MITE), as well as a postgraduate programme Instructional Design for Diversity.

What will you do
As a Teacher of Mathematics within ITE you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and reviewing learning sessions at our Meppel campus. You will contribute to both the ITESS and ITEPS programmes.
Within ITEPS, you will work closely with a team of mathematics lecturers to design and facilitate an inquiry-based, active, and inspiring mathematics learning environment. Together, you will support student teachers in developing their mathematical understanding and pedagogical approaches, preparing them for their future primary classrooms.

Across both programmes, you will be actively involved in curriculum development and in strengthening the connection between theory and practice in mathematics education.
As a Teacher Educator in International Education, you will work with a diverse student body from various cultural and educational backgrounds. We believe that diversity enriches the learning experience and prepares our student teachers to thrive in intercultural classrooms.

What is required
To be considered for this position, we ask that you meet the following requirements:

• a master's degree connected to mathematics or a closely related field
• experience in teaching mathematics across primary and/or secondary (middle years) education, with strong pedagogical and didactical skills
• able to connect mathematical content knowledge with effective teaching practices across age groups
• preferably familiar with international curricula such as IB-MYP/DP, English National Curriculum, IMYC, or American Common Core
• a strong interest in current research and developments in education
• expertise or affinity in curriculum development
• dedication to research-based practice and is aware of the intricacies of working within a multilingual and intercultural environment
• a fluency in academic English

We offer

• Depending on your knowledge and experience, the salary is a maximum of € 6.677,44 (scale 11 Collective Labour Agreement for higher professional education) gross per month for a full-time position, excluding 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
• This is a structural position and the contract is initially for one year.
• Your normal place of work is in Meppel, but you must be willing to travel if the job requires it.
